4 October – The Men’s team win a close match after overtime, moving to National Cup Round 3.

After creating most of their own problems with some rushed offensive solutions, and being caught a little by surprise by the opponents’ quick and effective passing game during the first two periods, Thunder found better offensive options in the second half, moving the ball more effectively and feeding the big men for some easier points.

A tighter defense tired the opponents in the last period and some quick dribble penetrations helped closing a 5 points gap in the last 3 minutes.

In the first overtime Thunder managed to finally break City of London Pride resistance, thanks to good defense and a clinical sequence of free throws.

“The guys showed good spirit and improved over the game. More boxing out at the back, more patience in attack and execute the set plays to beat the zone”
