Game Report NBL D4 – London Thunder v Chelmsford Lions
In spite of a number of unavailable players, the Men’s team picked up a good win in the last game of the year, after a month of mixed results.
Chelmsford got off on the right foot, scoring some easy points with a series of fast breaks, while the home side were a bit slow to react.
Once they adjusted their defensive attitude though, Thunder started to take control of the game, but they had to improve and accelerate the offensive motion to find the points which helped them open a gap of 7 points at half time.
A higher intensity, combined with a better passing game gave almost all players scoring opportunities in the key or in transition, and the gap doubled in the third quarter.
Michael, Wale and TJ scored the majority of the points between them, but Mo, Sam and Jordan all contributed to the final +19.
It was a performance that can give the team some confidence for the second part of the season, where it will be time to start winning more games in the League and try to make further progress in the National Shield where we have reached the quarter-finals.
