Game report U16 girls vs Brentwood Fire at the ThunderDome 1st October 2017

Final Score: 28-66

Playing at home this weekend we saw the first game of the season for newly formed the London Thunder U16 girls team versus Brentwood Fire U16 Girls.

After a nervous and stuttering start in what was, for many of the Thunder, their first ever National League game, Brentwood took full advantage and swiftly moved out to a 4-23 first quarter lead that the home side were not to recover from. Quarter by quarter although they showed improvement and grit, which was fantastic, but it was not going to be enough to overcome Brentwood. Showing glimpses of the London team’s potential, Emma Imebore began to dominate the boards after being sidelined for much of the game following early foul trouble while Batoul Khalefah found her scoring touch hitting 15 points.

“This is a young group of players with much to learn. They are smart, athletic and keen. Those are great attributes to have and from which to build”

Coach Peter Bishai
