Congratulations to Myles Barry who recently has been called up to the NBA Global Academy in Australia!
The NBA Global Academy in Australia is an elite basketball training center established through a partnership between the National Basketball Association (NBA) and Basketball Australia (BA). Located at the BA Centre of Excellence within the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) in Canberra, it focuses on developing top male and female basketball prospects from outside the United States.
The academy provides these athletes with world-class facilities and coaching, aiming to enhance their skills and prepare them for professional and collegiate levels of play. The curriculum emphasizes not only basketball skills but also education, leadership, character development, and life skills, with the goal of fostering well-rounded individuals. The NBA Global Academy represents a significant part of the NBA’s investment in nurturing international talent, offering a pathway for these young athletes to progress in their careers.
Myles Barry is a U16 basketball player for London Thunder, coached by Steven Bucknall. He has been recognized for his talent and potential in basketball, having been selected for the GB & England squad for the Europeans 2024 and Four Nations 2024 tournaments in Ireland and Scotland.
Additionally, Myles has been chosen for Sport England’s “Backing The Best” programme, managed by SportsAid, which supports talented young athletes facing financial challenges in their sports development. This inclusion highlights his exceptional skills and the potential he has to excel in basketball at higher levels.
